(#) Hashtag?

What is a (#) Hashtag?
Copied from hashtags ; a hashtag is an easy way for Twitter users to categorize Tweets that share a common topic or belong to a particular group. The hashtag is used to highlight keywords or topics within a Tweet, and can be placed anywhere within a post.

For instance, let say you are talking about yahoo. So, you are using a hashtag like #yahoo. So, #yahoo is actually a topic of a discussion. In your tweet this hashtag is converted to a link and by clicking on it, it will show you all those people and their tweets who use the same tag.

Read at hashtags.org for more details. You can also read at Wikipedia

By the way, Facebook does not support  (#) Hashtag. If you see (#) Hashtag on the Facebook, it is because the person has a twitter and facebook account connected together. Once that person is tweeting about something and using a twitter hashtag, it also posted to the facebook automatically. But the hashtag posted does not work as facebook doesn't support hashtag.

So, these are the list of sites that support hashtag
